Maintain the accuracy and repeatability of your gas chromatograph (GC) by eliminating carrier gas impurities. Varian® gas clean filters remove contaminants, moisture, and oxygen from your carrier gas before it enters the GC unit. 

Gas clean filters change color when saturated with contaminants; transparent housing lets you easily view the color of the filter. Oxygen filter changes from green to gray at 0.1 ppm oxygen. Moisture filter changes from green to pale brown at 0.2 ppm moisture. Carbon filter removes organic compounds from hydrogen and air supplies and does not have a color indicator. Combination GC/MS filter removes oxygen, moisture, and hydrocarbons from carrier gas and does not have a color indicator.Snap-fit couplings allow easy filter removal and replacement without letting air enter the GC.

Once the new filter is correctly positioned on the coupling and check valve, the secondary seal is punctured. A unique filter design opens the inlet check valve and pressurizes the filter with carrier gas. The fully pressurized filter opens the exit check valve, ensuring that no air enters the GC. Connecting units hold filters and channel gas from the source, through the filter, and to the GC.

Connecting units accommodate one, two, or four filters with ¼" or 1/8" gas line fitting connectors. An optional wall mount bracket secures the connecting unit to the wall and saves valuable lab space—order separately.Photo shows gas filter and connecting unit (not included).
